Rokita Statement on 39th Annual March for Life

Jan 23, 2012 Issues: Congressional Issues

Today Rep. Todd Rokita praised the March for Life and expressed his support for the pro-life movement:

“While the anniversary of Roe v. Wade is a somber occasion, each year I am inspired by the March for Life.  It is an opportunity for hundreds of thousands to make their voice heard in Washington, DC and to rededicate themselves to protecting innocent human life.

This is a powerful event symbolizing the unity of the pro-life movement.  It is inspiring to see so many people, particularly young people, marching for life.  The fight will go on until our nation returns to its founding principles and protects the right to life for all Americans, born and unborn.

Our Founding Fathers declared our independence with the powerful and universal declaration that all human beings are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain “unalienable Rights”,  first among which is the right to life. As a pro-life American, I believe life begins at conception, and I will continue to fight for every life as a member of Congress.”

The Indiana congressional delegation is hosting a reception for Hoosier marchers following the March at 1302 Longworth House Office Building from 4:30pm-6:00pm.
