Rep. Todd Rokita Introduces Resolution To Condemn Farrakhan

WASHINGTON, DC -- This morning, Congressman Todd Rokita introduced a resolution condemning Louis Farrakhan for promoting ideas that create animosity and anger towards Jewish Americans and the Jewish religion, while also condemning all manifestations of expressions of racism, anti-semitism, and ethnic or religious intolerance. The resolution can be found here.

"There is no place in our civil discourse for this clear anti-semitism and hate for another group of human beings," said Congressman Todd Rokita. "I urge my House colleagues to join me in condemning Louis Farrakhan's hateful and anti-semitic attacks, while also reaffirming our nation's commitment to our Jewish neighbors and our greatest ally, the nation of Israel."

Recently, Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, gave a speech saying “White folks are going down. And Satan is going down. And Farrakhan, by God’s grace, has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through." These comments were in addition to a Farrakhan's career of anti-semitism, praise for Hitler, blaming the Jews for 9/11, and other disgusting and repulsive language.

News reports in recent weeks show that many current Democrat members of Congress have met with Louis Farrakhan in recent years.

A similar resolution was passed overwhelmingly by a Democrat-controlled House in 1994.
