Rokita Supports Pro-Job Regulatory Reform

Feb 11, 2011

Washington, DC-- Representative Todd Rokita (R-IN), a member of the Budget, House Administration and Education and the Workforce Committees, supported a push for pro-job, pro-growth regulatory reform with a vote today for H.Res 72. The resolution instructs House committees to inventory regulations that hinder economic growth and job creation. Rokita released the following statement:

“Our economy is starving for jobs.  Today’s vote turned the full force of the House of Representatives on the problem of finding and repealing the thousands of outdated, job destroying regulations that are smothering our economy.

We all know that unnecessary government regulations adversely affect job growth and cultivate inefficiency and uncertainty in businesses across the country.  If our goal is to lower the unemployment rate, we must reduce extensive bureaucratic and nonsensical regulations. These only make it harder for job creators, small businesses and entrepreneurs to grow our economy and business in America – not other countries.”
